And that fact was completely lost on Chisato.
"Ugh, I just can't stand to travel. Trust me travelling the entire empire is not at all enjoyable! The worst of it had to have been the kobune out to the mantis isles... or was it the togashi peaks? No definately the peaks, getting answers from a dragon about their lineage is like pulling teeth! No attention to detail, deliberate omissions of information, and then claiming it as truth!"
He refocuses on something he kept hearing, "And by the way, 'Chisote'?"

Oh c'mon. "Deliberate omission of details, and then, claiming it as truth...." Are you telling some Dragon clanners deliberately lied about their heritage?
Satomi couldn't avoid to talk loud.

Kousei froze. This was why he hated court. Hanashimi had obviously not been paying attention when the Asako daimyo had been introduced, and having copied him Kousei was now standing there like a fool.
"My apologies Chis... Asako-sama. Please forgive this simple yojimbo. My hearing is obviously not what it once was and my lord Hanashimi-sama was simply following my lead."
He wondered whether to drop to his knees.

Chisato looked between them all rather confused for a second. He addressed the Kaiu first.
"Oh yes! I remember one time I asked this one Mirumoto fellow who his father was, in reply he told me that his father did not matter only his lord and the tao. I told him that I needed it for record keeping, and he asked me if my lord was information, and data my holy text. We went back and forth for hours of him answering my questions with questions until I about had enough. The cold was getting to me, and I had just traveled for a whole week to get there... so naturally I sneezed, I think rather then risk getting sneezed on again, he simply told me what I wanted to know."
He looked between them all again, "And thats only one example!"
He looked back to the crane pair, "So yes. I hate travel. And pay my name no heed I'm not important at all!"
His karo clears her throat and Chisato looks to her, "Oh... Oh! I am important! I completely forgot." He smiled back to them and was about to continue when the karo wisely interrupted.
"This is the daimyo of the Asako, Chisato sama. First of his name."

Knowing someone was able to get the Asako daimyo trapped in his own obnoxiouness was a refreshing thing to hear.
A pity this Mirumoto is not here…
Anyway, Satomi had more than enough. She nodded, but said nothing.
She'd sneeze, if needed, but she discreetly slipped for the back of the group, and soon disappeared from the view.

Kousei bowed deeply to the Asako daimyo and wished desperately he were somewhere else. As Hanashimi transferred his affections from Odai back to Chisato, Kousei nodded at the Yasuki. He noted the calluses on the Crab courtier's hands and wondered what life would be like if his charge were of similar character.

Noticing Satomi's stealthy exit, Odai managed to refrain from grinning at the ridiculousness of the situation they found themselves in. This new Asako daimyo was... an interesting character to say the least. Certainly something to keep an eye on in the coming months. The Crane pair's mistaking his name, however, was something truly priceless, though despite himself he felt a small part of himself feel bad for the Daidoji who was obviously trapped in an assignment he did not care for.
He nodded back to Kousei, giving the yojimbo a quick scan, and he was impressed; despite what seemed to be a rather boring charge, the man retained a good fighting form, at first glance anyway. Odai recalled that he had spent time on the Wall as well, and the cogs began to turn...

The Karo notices the pause in conversation and adds,
"Samas, we thank you for your interest in the familial histories of the empire." She bows to them both, "Will you be in need of copies yourselves?"
Chisato smiles, oh what a marvelous idea! He looks to them both excitedly, wondering what their answer would be.

Kousei saw the Karo wince as Chisato addressed the three of them as 'samas' and wondered how to respond. He wished briefly that has old friend Doji Mai was here - she would be able to disarm the situation instantly with a smile and well chosen words - and then realised that he hadn't thought of her for many years.
Snapping back to the present, after waiting for the two courtiers to reply he made his own request.
"It would be an honour, Chisato-sama."
While he waited for the daimyo to respond, he wondered idly how long it would be before Hanashimi managed to offend someone so badly that he was forced to stand as his champion in a duel and get himself killed.

"It would be an honor, my household would be well-served to have such information on hand, Asako-sama," Odai replied with another bow, gesturing for one of his aides to gracefully accept the offered copy as the Yasuki made sure his appreciation was well known.
Turning to Hanashimi and Kousei after a moment, he gathered himself, ensuring that his most charming face was presented before his next move. "Perhaps, once Winter prepares to give way to Spring, Hanashimi-sama would wish to be my guest in Aiso ni Ryokosha Mura? We have a wonderful calendar of events planned following the Topaz Championship, and I would be more than happy to continue efforts to... reinforce new ties between our Clans."
The last few words seemed to come with a small amount of difficulty to Odai, but to most it would simply seem as though he was searching for the proper words.

The Karo bows her head, pleased that they had agreed with her offer of the tome. She waves two more scribes forward, who both present their texts to Chisato to review.
Chisato checks the first tome in painstakingly close detail, hming and ahing at certain points. He makes sure this one has the newest edit, and quickly moves past that page. He catches the tail end of their conversation as he begins to attach his seal to the book.
"New ties between the Crane and Crab? Oh I do hope that the arranged marriages are smartly done, there are some fantastically suitable candidates for both sides, it would make for such a unique and interesting lineage!"

"That would be a most wonderful idea, Odai-san! Let us put all that recent unpleasantness behind us, and you must come and visit me in Hashi no Toshi in summer in return. Oh it will simlly be splendid!"
Experienced courtiers might find themselves beginning to wonder how Hanashimi had gotten himself into a position like governor and invited to the court...

"And of course, most honorable Asako-sama is also invited, if he finds the time and desire to have some repast from the duties of his new office," Odai continued smoothly, seemingly brushing over mentions of both marriages and the recent conflict, smiling as he did so. This Hanashimi was... an interesting figure, to be sure. And his superiors were hounding him to work with the Crane more, after all...

...but Chisato was hardly experienced, so he simply smiles and nods, thinking the idea would be simply marvelous.
"I ever do so enjoy weddings! They make fantastic mergers in the records!" He begins to double check the second tome, this one meant for the daidoji. And a slight frown crosses his face as he looks over the work. "What is this, scribe?"
A very confident Asako bows and says, "Its my copy of your work, Asako sama."
"I see that, but... you changed it."
"No sama, I simply wanted to organize it in such a way that the families could be viewed better between the pages."
Chisato digs his nose back into the text and pays very close attention to her work. Forgetting he even had guests.

After scouring the book for imperfections, he leans back and away.
"Asako san, this is... well- I'm astonished."
The scribe bows deeply, "You honor me Asako sam-"
"Excuse me every one!!" Chisato interrupts standing up, "We need to do the copies like this!" He lifts her book up for everyone to see. "The event is over everyone! You may return your Genealogies to the scribes who wrote them, we must set about to work immediately!"
His karo was distraught and astonished, she stammered and tried to stop Chisato, but he would have none of it.
The lucky scribe didn't know whether to be terrified, or humbled... she opted with both.
"Someone bring me more ink!"
