posting as: Hida ReihaThe Daidoji performance was very well received, and Nozomi applauded, before receiving the peach as treat. The talent of a Crane, the heart of a Crab… But… I was told your mother was born into Hiruma, right? Nozomi tasted the fruit, with a smile. Before any of them could say anything else, Hida Reiha commented, quite innocently: Ahh, indeed Nozomi-san. Daidoji Kousei-san is a well known name in the Wall, and his Crab heritage is never forgotten… Our clan would be honored to have you as one of us, definitely. May we send a nakado to your family, Kousei-san? Or are you betrothed to someone already? Her glance to Satomi's direction gave everyone a clue of her plans, as to have Kousei into the clan, the bride should have a higher rank than him. It would be a perfect solution for two problems. As she looked to the rikugunshokan, though, the Kaiu general was talking to the Asako daimyo, who was being called behind his back as "next little good wife", probably due his not so manly demeanor, by Crab standards, and his proximity to Satomi. Her eyes wandered through the room. Is that man, the Dragon, the one you told to be who saved your life earlier, Nozomi? With Nozomi's hai of accordance, Hida Reiha asked a servant to bring the monk from the corner he was, so she could be introduced to the savior of Nozomi's life.

Her comment was for the Asako karo, always trying to pull out the marriage topic. There was nothing wrong with Chisato's robes, actually she liked it. But saying otherwise maybe would give the karo a better perception that, trying that hard would only damage Chisato's image.
No, Chisato-san... In fact I really believe this pretty kimono is a perfect symbol of your personality... in many levels. Reiha's gaze didn't escape her perception, though Satomi credited to actually different things than the real intention.

"Uh, thank you, I think." He seems unsure if that really is a compliment, but then he looks at her attire. "Your kimono seems an appropriate choice as well. Good for festivity, but indicative of your family and clan." He gulps, hoping he didn't give away to noticeably what he knew of her heritage.
"I shouldn't be taking all of your time, Satomi san, I'm sure others at this party would like to speak to you. Have you talked to the bride -to-be yet?"

Ah thanks Asako-san. Now it was Satomi a bit unsure why in the hell Chisato was reinforcing a obvious thing like her clan and family. Was him once again busy with her lineage?
Yes, of course. That's was my intention, I was about to take you from the lovely company of Yasuki Michiko to present you to the Bride, Yasuki Nozomi. She is very curious on how she must to behave regarding her future mother-in-law... Maybe you , an especialist in heraldry, genealogy and other high arts, can clarify how a young lady shall refer to ...Lady Hatsuko...
Saying so, she showed him the way, and they approached from the bride, Kousei and the others.
First of all, showing the due respect to her champion, she bowed, and introduced Chisato to Hida Reiha with all his titles (including "the first of his name", as he used to repeat). And introduced Yasuki Nozomi to the Asako daimyo. The young lady, of course, showed respect and interest, but she probably remembered his presence and book signing event in the Winter Court.
OOC: Kaneka's mother's destiny is not told in cannon, not sure if we shall assume her dead or alive at this point. Anyway, the doubt is how to treat/refer a geisha who was not an official concubine of the Emperor (as far as I know, she wasn't granted the samurai title and is still a heimin).

Rising slowly at the summons Te walks over to where Nozomi lays, her ladies and attendants around her. Dropping to one knee he bows to her and asks "you wished to see me Little Sister"?

Chisato bows deeply to the champion, hiding his gulp of fear, then looks to the pretty Nozomi. He was about to address her when the tall monk arrived.
Any other daimyo might have been offended, Chisato simply felt saved, he let him speak first. Chisato looks back to Reiha, and was seriously considering saying something to her, then immediately changed his mind. He simply bowed to her again, and looked to Satomi.
"Was there anyone else you wished to introduce me to?" Hoping she would save him from speaking to any of them. But realistically he knew that would not happen, he didn't want to offend Reiha. She was very scary, "Hida sama, how is the Kakeguchi family these days?" There we go, an innocent little question. Please don't eat my face.

posting as: Hida Reiha and Yasuki NozomiIn fact, she tried to suppress her feelings, tried to keep face and carry on as demanded from her position as bride of Yasuki Kaneka, a Wind, the oldest son of Toturi I. But Nozomi couldn't. She never wished such life for her, and something in her nature wasn't in accord with the precepts of a samurai life. A romantic heart, used to read romances and to dream of far away lands, wishing a life of myth and adventures. Her simple existence caused a massacre on innocent people. Not samurai people, but that man with the food cart, foro insntace, she used to buy manju from him everytime she travelled by Yasuki Yashiki road. They were real people for her. People she used to see, talk to, live with. And other unknown heimin, who came from far to see her wedding with Kaneka. And those ronin even herself mistook as bandits. Lady Otomo Nihume witnessed for them. Nozomi asked permission to seppuku, but her superiors laughed at her. They're ronin; they're heimin, you are The Bride, they said. You shall marry Kaneka. It's your duty. Make him happy. Bear many children for him. And several other things that made her finally understand her place in her clan. All those conflicted feelings and thoughts crossed her mind when Nozomi saw Kurizumon Te once again. She thought it would be a happy moment. He was someone who didn't measure her by how pretty she was or her place in the scheme of things. He was free. It was too much. She couldnt keep things light, and honor her guests with a frivolous and merry behavior. She tried, but the events of the day were still printed in strong colors in her mind. That's when she couldn't keep face anymore, and tears started to roll on her face. -- Reiha was starting to reply Asako Chisato, when Nozomi's reaction caught everyone by surprise. It shocked her champion. Hida Reiha shot a startled gaze, then a angry one. The Kaiu general looked puzzled... as everyone else. The Hida daimyo ordered her ladies-in-wait to take Nozomi away for a "refreshment" time, with a short command. They rushed to obey. She's... nervous with the proximity of the event. Don't worry. She'll be well in no time. The Hida damyo tried to be reassuring. But... So are you "Kurizumon Te"? She turned to the man who involuntarily caused such strong feelings in Nozomi, very curious, in fact.

Chisato stands there awkwardly, and looks back and forth between everyone, tight lipped. Someone save me from this, please.

"that is what I am called, yes" he stated. He glanced over to the small Phoenix Daimyo then back to Reiha, "have I said something wrong, I do not wish to offend".

Oh of course. Second time Nozomi needs to act like a spoiled child and not to do what is expected from her. Satomi sighed. The guests of course reacted to the Bride's tears with concern, and an awkward silence fell over the room.

Kousei was more or less stunned into silence by Reiha's overt suggestion followed swiftly by Nozomi's tears and retreat. Eventually he gathered his wits enough to come back into the conversation.
"No, Reiha-dono, I am not betrothed to anyone." He spread his hands wide. "As you have seen for yourself this evening, I appear to have a most unfortunate effect on women. Nozomi-sama is merely the latest in a long line to suffer - even my mother cried when I was born!"
He prayed to the Fortuntes that this would be enough to alleviate the atmosphere.

posting as: Hida ReihaWith a half smile, Hida Reiha moved her glance from one to other, the "unfortunate" Daidoji, the well meant monk, the puzzling Phoenix daimyo and...the Kaiu general. The very one who had been busy investigating details of Reiha's life in the company of her friend the Phoenix. Unfortunately, she couldn't do anything about the Phoenix, but Satomi would be interrogated about her sudden interest in her past. She returned her attention first to Kurizumon Te: Kurizumon Te, we owe you many thanks. Lady Yasuki strayed herself but you brought her back. Her family asked me to offer to your brotherhood a Yasuki present, given in gratitude for your selfless attitude towards an unknown woman. We know little of your customs, but we surely know every brotherhood help the ones in need. So this present can be used in the way you see fit.The Hida daimyo was handed a scroll, which she delivered with appropriate gestures of courtesy and respect to the monk. It was a credit for a good amount of rice. Of course the Yasuki believed a monk would have practical uses of this commodity, either employing it in charity or donating for the maintenance of a temple or monastery. And, of course, this is the way the Yasuki thought to gift a monk who has a poverty vow. After the customary refusal and acceptance of the gift, Hida Reiha politely excused herself and left with her retinue, but in fact, the event had no reason to continue without the Bride.

"The wedding is tomorrow and I for one am tired" Kousei proclaimed. "Kurimuzon Te-san, I would love to hear the tale of how you rescued Lady Nozomi-sama - maybe you could tell it to me tomorrow?"
After the monk had replied, Kousei proceeded around the room making his farewells for the evening, pausing for particularly friendly words with Chisato and Satomi, before retiring for the evening.
Truth be told, he was a little sad at how events had transpired this evening. He knew that Nozomi belonged to another world - the women he liked usually seemed to - but for things to end the way they had after the earlier riot and incident at the geisha house... It had been an emotionally exhausting day.

There was a long awkward silence now as Chisato stood there with Satomi and the monk. Chisato finally seemed to relax, "So.... does this mean the party is over?"
