"The name does not sound familiar to me, I'm sorry. There were certain aspects of your brother's business that he kept me away from, as if he were afraid I would object I guess. That also meant keeping me away from certain people that he dealt with. Usually I was needed mostly for the more dangerous travels or if he felt threatened by a larger force. Ibara, his other yojimbo, was more of a confidant than I."
"Remember about the mountains though, they are stone, but the kami, they are strange."

Well, I'm under impression Tenshu may know about Yoru's whereabouts… So if you meet this man, by chance_ well, he's an older version of Yoru, and myself, I guess… _ she rubbed her temple, with a half smile_ you can ask him about Yoru in my name.
Now, yes, I'll remember your words, Te-san. I'll tread carefully, too. She said seriously.
As soon as I get official leave and the travel papers are ready, we can do it… I was thinking in accompanying Tsuruchi Kasumi_ do you remember her?_ to Kyuden Tonbo, and then go for Dragon lands. Travelling with Emerald Magistrates speeds significantly one's travel… she justified. Meanwhile, as promised, I'll use my contacts to try and discover where my little brother is...

"That would be fine with me. I must confess though, I'm becoming accustomed to this lavish lifestyle I have found myself in ever since meeting you that first time at the palace gates. It will take some time to return to the life I normally know."

Lavish, uhn…? She wouldn't say it this meal was lavish, she had eaten better and worse things in life. Well, your lavish life may be extended for a while, at least until we part ways in the Old Road, that's it. Where temple you staying in Kyuden Seppun? Or are you in an Inn?

"I've actually only just arrived in the city. Are there any inns that you would recommend?

I like the Old Hare, next the Yakushiji Temple. It's a clean place, calm and kind of "boring to death", so you don't expect to find emotion of any sort within its walls… They serve a good and honest soba, as well. Husband used to like staying in there… however if you like crowded and lively places, you must try the Nightingale… This one is next Kawaradera Temple…
Normally monks didn't think of her next offering as offensive, so she said casually:
Be my guest in one of them, please. I have deep respect for your Order and, in any case, you are my brother's yojimbo.

Te smiled. It was not very often someone offered to share their quarters with him, especially an attractive woman. That she could kill him without blinking her one good eye made him smile even more.
"I would be happy to be your guest at the Old Hare. I'm afraid I don't do well in crowded places"

For a moment she thought to have captured something else in his expression_ but Satomi was used to men and their funny expressions… Most monks she knew didn't hide well their reactions.
Ah well, celibacy is always a problem, she even remembered seeing another monk, a blind one, "savouring" the perfume of his female aide in the Winter Court.
Very well, that's a good choice, Te-san. Now, in the case you are not busy, maybe you are interested in join my current enterprise…?
She handed him a copy of the Imperial Edict.
