After he had been released by the shugenja following Akko's death Te made his way back to his room. Upon entering he immediately saw the note left on the table. Picking it up he started to read it. He also started to chuckle. By the time he dropped the note his laughter filled the room.
She knew where he was.
He was going to die.
The laughter turned dark.
Te gathered his few belongings and left the inn. He would be happy to deliver the letters to his brother Moeru... just as soon as Yoru was dead.

After a quick stop at the Scorpion embassy to gather the letters that Satomi had written Te started north. He quickly left the city, and its people behind him.

After a month and a half of travel Te finally entered Kyuden Tonbo. Reaching into his pocket he pulled out the second note that Satomi had left for him. It was a little worn from the many times he read it. He was looking for a place called The Round Heron. Apparently Yoru had a secret room under the kitchens there.

The first three people that he asked about the inn shied away from him. The fourth person he asked about it finally told him were it was. As he made his way there he started to realize why people didn't want to talk about it. The Round Heron was nothing more than the charred remains of a building laying in a hole in the ground.
Yoru always was able to cover his tracks but he was usually a little more subtle about it than this. Being this close to home Te decided to deliver the letters to Moeru before returning south.
