The Kitsuki could feel the walls closing in on her. She had overplayed her hand, and she had done so quickly. Surely, her masters would not be happy with her if she wasn't able to delicately backtrack out of it. She folded her arms and slid her right hand into the sleeve of her left. If this went wrong, she had no intention of going anywhere quietly.
"My.... Togashi-sama." The Kitsuki feigned sincerity in her voice. "Togashi-sama. You, surely don't think that..." Her voice sounded a little agitated. "You don't think that I had something to do with this do you?" Agitated, but pleading.
Moeru faced her, and the elements were muted around her person. Her aura seemed affected in the same way as the Tanto. It was becoming apparent to him that not all was as it seemed. As he studied her aura, it began to darken.
Moeru shook his head, and moved closer to Satomi. "Kitsuki-san. I did not call you here to accuse you. I called you here to find out what it was that you were discussing with your companions at the Crab gala." Moeru turned and stood side by side with Satomi. "But I must ask you to answer Satomi-san's question"
The Mirumoto bushi moved closer behind the Kitsuki courtier. Their position looked ready to arrest the Kitsuki upon command. The Tamori and her Yojimbo stood off to the side of Satomi, and watched with growing interest.
The Kitsuki sighed again. "It was supposed to be easy you know... Go to the gala, ask some questions, get some answers." The Kitsuki started rambling. "Find out if the Crab had fears about the wall, and find ways to exploit those flaws in a new wall to the North. Then, with both walls in place, and the weaknesses known, no one would suspect it." The Kitsuki's eyes grew dark. "This Empire cannot be at peace. Peace is a LIE told about in courts." The woman's lips curled back in a sneer. "Your husband was too suspicious Kaiu. He just couldn't leave it be. He had to know why." The Kitsuki's face curled into a smile. "So I had to make sure.... I had to make sure he couldn't tell anyone."
The Kitsuki pulled her arms apart, and in her right hand was another Tanto similar to that which had been collected in the Kitchen. "My Master will have vengeance, and this Empire will be torn apart FROM THE INSIDE OUT!" As she screamed, she threw the Tanto at the Tamori Shugenja. The Yojimbo dove in front of her, the dagger rending the flesh in his neck. As the Tamori caught him, she watched the life fade from his eyes.
The Kitsuki cackled, and lept at Satomi, sharp talon like nails protruding from her hands. As the crazed Kitsuki lept into action, both Mirumoto Samurai drew down on the monk, and Moeru chuckled. "Shinko-san, this is where you hide. I'll come find you when this is over."
The servant girl burst into tears as the scene descended into chaos, and went running for a back room. "We'll deal with her after we've bled you, blind man." The one Bushi growled.
Moeru chuckled. "Tell me Mirumoto-san... Did your master tell you what they called me in the war?" Moeru cocked his head as if the question were amusing. "They called me The Dragon of the East" As Moeru finished speaking, a gout of fire lept from his mouth, in the direction of the Mirumoto Bushi. And the battle had begun.
