Everyone knows who the man was. He was Akuro, who used to sell food near the gates of the castle. He has two cute little daughters, Mimei and Chikako, that used to help him sometimes.
He was serving free sekihan and daifuku for the people as a present from the bride to the Yasuki heimin in that day.
Reminding the whole event made her frown. She knew somebody from the Crab ranks was decided to cause that, and for all she heard, the ronin were led to believe they should wait for an "Otomo lady" that would help them to get a new lord... One Otomo lady who never came.
I don't hold power to keep investigating or to take any action against a Crab soldier, but I know Nozomi hold affection for those people as you do.
The Scorpion woman scratched the eyepatch for a moment, then spoke:
Kurimuzon-san, I can tell you the sake house where the cavalrymen use to gather after their duty. However… Let me tell you one thing. This is not the first time the populace is incited against their lords, the barest of the excuses serving as fuel for violence. It was seen before the last year in the Winter, in Lion lands, before the Winter Court. Now, it happened here. Someone is gaining with those riots and I confess I think it's the same group increasing the price of goods, making life hard to the honest ones... breeding a civil war. Good peasants and citizen are suffering and dying. Both sides are right in how they react to violence but… who's manipulating it? Those are the ones who truly killed Akuro and the ronin band. You can find the horseman, but killing him will not do the entire job of avenging everyone who died here, or in the Lion lands...
I have no doubt that it'll turn to happen again, in other lands… very soon.

Te smirked slightly, "I have no intention of killing the man. I just wish to make sure that he never hurts another innocent".
"I thank you for the information that you've provided to me Satomi-san. You have given me a lot to think of."

Very well… Very well… you can find them in the Pink Chrisanthemum House at the Clear Water Village's geisha's district. Not sure how you'll recognize the man you are looking for, but I wish you luck and wisdom in your purposes… Satomi said, a bit worried in how that would end. Sorry if I can't help you more, but know it… when you need help from an apprentice Scorpion, go see me or send me a message.
I can't thank you enough for your help, Kurimuzon-san. She bowed in gratitude.

Te tried to get to the scribes office in Yasuki Yashiki to find out where to redeem his writ. Now that the distraction with his brother and the Phoenix party was behind him, he just had to find the way. After asking a nervous servant, why did he always have that effect on people, he managed to get where he was going. He learned of the warehouse where the bales were stored and asks one last question of the scribe, where would the residence of Akuro the merchant be? Bowing his thanks to the scribe Te exits the palace, hoping to never return.
After gathering his newly acquired horse cart, Te walks down to the warehouse district and immediately becomes lost. After pulling the large cart behind him for an hour he finally decides to ask for directions.

Eventually finding the correct warehouse Te cashes in his writ for the ten bales of rice. He loads the bales into his cart and lifts the front shafts slowly pulling the cart behind him.
An hour of travel takes Te to the far fringes of the city and after asking directions one last time he finds the small house he is looking for. Pulling the cart into the front yard he lowers the shaft stand and places a stone behind the tire, keeping it from rolling. He places a note he had prepared on the front of the cart and begins the walk back to his room.
The note: This will not make up for the loss of Akuro, but I hope to ease what suffering I can. I'm sorry I can not provide you with more. The note was signed simply, Gakushu.

After a month Te finally finished the two newest carvings on Tsuito, his large ebony staff. During this time he also spent much time at the Pink Chrysanthemum. It seems they need men to remove over eager customers sometimes and and with his size Te seemed well suited to this type of job. He learned many of the clients and what they do, especially the crab soldiers. He was most interested in the horse soldiers, one in particular. Natu came in quite frequently, at least twice a week. Te soon learned the mans schedule, and after questioning the girls, his habits as well.
With the carvings finished he knew it was time to move on. His bosu was probably still in the Scorpion lands trying to find his father, he would meet him there before asking to head home for awhile.

This would be the last day that Te would spend in this city, and with luck, never return. He planned to leave this night, right behind Natu.
This night Natu came to the Pink Chrysanthemum by himself and spent much time drinking sake before going to one of the rooms with a girl. After what seemed to be too short of time Natu came back from his room and made his way out the door. Te gathered his belongings and slowly made his way after the man. Once the two of them were well away from the geisha house, and most other buildings, Te quickly made his way in front of the horse soldier. Setting aside his pack and staff he moved to the center of the road and placed himself in the man's path. Flexing his fingers Te moved forward and with a powerful well aimed kick he forced the hip joint of the soldier to separate. Unable to support himself properly the well trained soldier dropped to one knee and drew his sword. Te smiled as he moved forward and blocked the soldiers swing with his forearm, the blade biting deeply. Driving his stained fingers forward he crushed the shoulder joint. Pulling the sword free of his arm and tossing it aside Te kicks the man in the chest driving him to the ground. Te kneels beside Natu's head and speaks "You have abused the power that was entrusted to you. From the day that you took the life of Akuro I knew you must be stopped. Know this, I will not kill you, but you will never be able to kill again".
Methodically, passionlessly, Te started to crush every joint in the mans arms and legs. He ensured that the soldier would never again be able to sit a saddle or hold a sword. When he finished he knelt with a knee on either side of the mans head. Natu still screamed from the pain, but the horror in his eyes was what Te wanted. "Don't. Make. Me. Return." With his last words Te brought his hands together forcefully, one on each side of the soldiers jaw crushing it.
Leaving the unconscious soldier Te walked over to where he had left his belongings. Looking at his already healing arm he decided that the cut didn't warrant bandaging. Picking up his pack and staff he began his walk east.
Maybe he should find his bosu's sister, she might know where he was.
