Moeru was right, of course. Satomi laughed:
My friend. You are absolutely right about this. About relaxing... I don't understand this concept, but... I'll try, nevertheless.
Satomi truly, noticed she was tense, and doing things or planning, for a long time. She hadn't properly appreciated a cup of tea during this winter court; no time to lose, it seems. She sipped her tea again, observing how Shinko seemed to venerate Moeru in every gesture she made to serve him. Their emotional closeness... In this isolated room, it turned obvious, when someone pay attention. Something was very wrong there...but, who was Satomi to judge?
Takai returned to their company by the hands of a servant woman. He was a bit full of himself, as his father had tied his own belt on the boy's kimono. Some turns around the boy were needed, of course.
Ah, well... So your father gave you his obi? Satomi asked, motioning the boy to come to her. Takai, though, darted to the man in green, stopping next to Moeru.
Dagon, look! Obi!
Takai obviously wasn't able to understand why Moeru used a cloth around his eyes.
Maybe he could, but didn't care.
He doesn't talk often, Moeru-san. It seems to mean... he truly likes you.

He chuckled at her attempt to relax. What he had been taught about the Crab was true, at least in the case of Satomi. Stoic, Serious, Their metaphorical shell the last bastion of defense against unspeakable horrors to the south led them to be more vigilant in all aspects of life.
As the young boy ran up to Moeru, and mentioned the obi, Moeru smiled wide. "And what a wonderful obi it is, Takai-san." Moeru knew that Obi would be a cherished keepsake the boy would be attached to. He thought of the keepsake he had for so long from his own childhood. The odd piece of crystal that his father had given him. It had come from the Burning Sands, a gift to his father from a merchant. Hearing the boy so excited about his father's obi, took him back to the last time he saw the crystal, that fateful night, in the City of the Lost.
Moeru nodded at Satomi's statement. "And I, him Satomi-san." He said, his voice a little more somber than before. "And I, him." Moeru couldn't see the Obi, but he could hear the adoration for it in those three words.
