"Wait, wait," Noroko says quickly, holding up a hand. "Do you forget Bayushi-sama so soon? It is not always wise to simply blurt out the truth to everyone." She speaks quickly, hoping to get the idea through to him before he can interrupt or run off. "That does not mean it should not be shared, but quietly, at first. To the right person." She pauses just long enough to take a breath, hoping to forestall the objections she knows are coming. "Think about it, Chisato-sama. What if there were other claimants? Rohiteki-sama could be killed before the news even reaches her."
------------- OOC: I assume Noroko would need to know who the best person to tell is? I'm still trying to figure things out. I would guess Fire (or Air) + Ikoma Bard + Ninja + Forbidden Knowledge.

"Oh..? Why would they refuse the facts? She is to be the next champion by blood? Any one else would simply be wrong."
Megumi steps up, interrupting, "Asako sama, not all men are as good and innocent as you, many hold darkness in their hearts." She looks to Noroko, "Speaking of hearts, is there a husband in your life that holds yours?"

Noroko replies to Chisato simultaneously with Megumi, having learned long ago that bluntness is often the only way to get some things across to him. "She's not the next champion by blood anymore if she's dead, Chisato-sama." Then she blinks, staring at the karo for a moment before the question registers. "Ah, no? No. I am unmarried." A long pause. "Asako-sama."

Chisato looks to Megumi with scorn, "Asako san... not now, please?"
She grins and looks between them both, "I'll get you two some more tea."
Chisato returns his attention to Noroko, "Alright, you suggest caution. Very well... who do we go to next? The empress?"

"The Shogun would know his own family," Noroko says matter-of-factly, though she gives the karo a strange look. "And he would know if there was anyone likely to make trouble. Of course, we could go to the Empress, as she could simply appoint Rohiteki-sama and avoid any potential unpleasantness. Though that would have to be your doing, I certainly cannot get an audience with her!"

He blinks a few times at that. He had never thought of himself having that much... power. "The empress... I can do that? I... guess so. It would make sense to tell her in person, too. The capitol is on the way home... Alright."
He nods, "I need to write a letter to... not to her right? I would write it to the chancellor? The Amethyst Champion? The Emerald Champion?"
He blinks, "I have no idea where to begin."

"Don't worry, Chisato-sama. I do," she smiles calmly at him, her voice soothing. "You will need to write to the Imperial Adviser. He would be the one who arranges meetings with the Empress. It would be wise to make a good impression on the Advisor as well. Perhaps you would like me to help you with your letter?"

He gives a lopsided smile, "Oh dear me, I would be a poor author and scribe if I couldn't write my own letters! I'll be fine." Were his karo there, she would have been laughing, she had taken many of Chisato's 'letters' and made small alterations so that they were less... rigid.
"Oh! But I wouldn't mind your input," he quickly adds, "I've never written a letter to the empress!"

"Of course you can, I certainly did not mean to suggest otherwise. It is just given the importance of the letter and the illustriousness of those to whom it is addressed, that it would be best to make sure it is perfect, neh?" Noroko's calm and friendly expression doesn't betray her apprehension at the idea of Chisato writing the letter himself, though internally she's already planning how to intercept and revise it, should be necessary. "I am, after all, also a scribe and historian. And I am sure your karo is quite skilled at writing as well."

"Asako san?" He calls out, looking for his Karo, Megumi.
She pokes her head around the corner, "Yes, Asako sama?"
"I need to write a letter, best paper available, please."
"Yes, Asako sama." She returns shortly after with the materials.
Chisato takes a deep breath, he speaks as he begins to work on a draft, "To the illustrious Imperial Advisor," he pauses as his hand catches up.
He hums for a second and gets back to it, "There has been much turmoil in the Crab clan... Hida Reiha sama is dead... The evidence suggests kolat involvement... The clan lacks a clear successor... I would like to offer my services... May I speak with the Empress' Imperial Court?... Only her authority will..."
he looks up at her, at a loss for words, "Will what? help?"

"...will avoid further conflict and allow the Clan time to heal after these grievous incidents." Noroko finishes the sentence fluidly. "But you should not be so blunt, Chisato-sama. You and I appreciate it, but others do not. Try this:
She looks over at Megumi as she finishes the suggestion, hoping the karo will chime in and agree with her revisions. "Then you simply let the Advisor know when you will be passing by the Imperial City, and give all appropriate salutations and blessings. As you know, of course." She smiles encouragingly at Chisato.

Megumi nods, thankful that for once she did not have to rewrite the damn thing.
"Oh! My, that does sound much nicer, thank you for your help!" He scribbles away in that disastrously super neat handwriting of his surprisingly fast. It makes sense though that he is gifted at writing mechanically, if not with expression.
Before long he has reached the end of his letter, and he finishes it instead with no mention of when he'd be in town, and that the empress has but to call upon him and he lives to serve her.
He hands the letter over for Noroko and Megumi to look at.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ooc: here is my score for writing a letter to convince the empress to see me:
Air 3 + initiator + Asako Daimyo + Asako loremaster + scribe + gentle heart = 8
If noroko would like to post points as well in an "aid another" kind of manner to try and get it through since she helped, could she?

Noroko nods as she reads it over, and then hands it to Megumi. "The neatness of your hand surprises me every time. Your poetry was always beautiful to look at..." she says, chuckling softly. "I think this will do quite well. Will you let me know when you have received a response? These events are of great historical import, of course..." She tilts her head and smiles at him.
---------------------- If I can pitch in here my roll would be Air 4 + Ikoma Bard I suppose?

Megumi does a double take, pretending to glance over the letter. Did she just say poetry?
Chisato blushed, not expecting that to have been brought up in front of others. The head of a shiba with one eyebrow raised slowly peeks around the corner to reguard them both. Megumi gives him a nod, and he slowly slides back out of sight.
Chisato breaks the silence as he usually does, with another sneeze. Megumi acts fast, handing him a silk cloth, and while Chisato is distracted, she says, "You should come with us, Ikoma san. Have you ever been to the capitol?"

Noroko politely ignores the sneeze and smiles widely at Megumi. "I have not, and that sounds like an excellent idea," she says just as quickly. "Someone will need to be there to make sure these events are recorded properly, and I do not think a new Imperial Scribe has been selected yet."
"For now, however, I think I should be retiring to my room. You will tell me if there is any news, Chisato-sama?" she asks warmly once he's finished sneezing. She stands and bows to each of them.
