"I shall certainly keep the bead" Torako tells the other samurai as she begins to take her opening move on the go board.
"This will make a fine story for the future, better than the one I have just told certainly."
Torako surveys her opponent as she makes her move. Torako is not exactly the best go player that she knows, but then again she is of the Lion Clan, go is practically as common as breathing there.

Nods to the others and finishes off his sake.
"Rain be damned I have an appointment to keep. It was a pleasure meeting you all." giving a bow to all of them in general before looking to Torako-san "I hope you find your path as a Emerald Magistrate comes easily. Take every opportunity as one to learn even if you get stuck protecting holdings and" he mulled on how to phrase the last of his advice. "Be careful not to cloud your true honor with how others perceive your honor as Akodo-no-kami said, 'You are the only judge of your honor." with that he gave her a final bow and made his way into the rainy night after retrieving his weapons.

"Have a good night, Hida-san," Kasumi said while she placed a stone on the board. She had, like most samourai, learned to play go, but learning how to play and being good at it where two different things. Playing against a Lion was always difficult, as they were the masters of the game. Her opponent wasn't an Akodo, but that didn't mean much. While most Matsu were too impatient for the game, the fact that Torako was a magistrate meant she did have the patience. Well, one learned from playing against better people, just as one learned from a better swordsman.

Kaigen watched Izo depart with the barest flicker of a smile.
Pointedly ignoring the game, he half-closed his eyes and took a deep breath and held it for some time.
Either the rain would cease soon or it wouldn't. No sense worrying.

Torako was not exactly the preeminent go player in her clan, or even her family. Her mother had her measure on that score, but she had taught her well enough. The young Magistrate rarely found that she had the patience for the game, but it was a valuable skill to force on the road and among fellow samurai. It was all practice at keeping her temper in check outside of combat, and she would take any opportunity for that.
Kasumi was a skilled player, had she not been drinking the Torako would not like to have called the match. As it was, the Lion fought to a close victory, and bowed her head in an acknowledgement of her opponents skill.
"We shall have to play again some time Tsuruchi-sama. You have great skill at the game"

"Back when I was recovering from the bandit attack," she said, "I either played go or I was writing poetry. And later as a yojimbo in court, I always found people to play. It's only the past year or so that I haven't played much. Also I've had some sake. But you are right, we should do this again."
