That was awesome, Te! Thank for the good time reading. I NEED to comment every paragraph, please don't be mad at me!
A night at the inn
After a long day of travel and a grueling fight with a bakemono the group was happy to see the lights of an inn ahead of them in the distance. As they neared the building four companions talked about what foods might be available and whether sake could be had. Te opened the door and held it so Sojiro, Kasumi, and Satomi could enter. The Wandering Sensei was a cheerful place with a kashu singing in the corner and playing a harp. There were a few other travelers in the place, all being served by the fat innkeeper and his ample wife. The group was seated quickly and the innkeeper, Akemo, started to list off the house specials. They did indeed have sake. The specialty of the night was pork dumplings but they had many other dishes available.
Satomi:
The moment where you think… A cheerful inn in a horror setting? Oh MY GOD. We are going to DIE (I can imagine the paranoid type of player saying " I am not going to eat or drink ok?" And a series of "rational in game explanations" to cover his palpable and META-fear of losing his PC LOL).
The group sat and talked for many hours, always with cups of sake and plates of dumpling being refilled many times throughout the evening. Finally, as the night grew late and common room emptied the group decided to retire to their rooms. As the inn was small there were only two rooms available. The men took the room with only a single bed since Te would just sleep on the floor anyway.
If it was a american movie_ take of girls bathing and having conversations on the guys; guys being guys and trolling one another. If it was an asian movie: silent scenes where the heroes are in the same place but not talking to one another, but thinking on the tragedies of their lives.
Half way through the night Sojiro started to roll around uncomfortably on the bed. Eventually the scratching sensation became unbearable and he rolled off of the now unpadded bed, unpadded but for the shredded remains of the sheet and sojiro’s night clothes. Ripping the bloodied cloth from the bed Sojiro reveals the pallet to be covered in rusty blades and broken glass, and blood from his own back.
Satomi:
Sojiro rolling in the bed? I swear I thought in the Princess and the Pea at first.
Hearing his cursing Te awoke and found himself stuck to the floor. Pulling himself free he looks down to where he was laying and found himself surrounded by a large puddle of congealing, sticky blood. More blood than could come from a single person. The men gather their weapons and rush out the door to find out what was going on. They were met in the hallway by Satomi and Kasumi, also in their nightclothes, covered in blood and holding their weapons. Both groups slide a little in the blood covering the hallway and barely avoid running into each other.
Gore time!!!!! YAY!!!!!!
Making their way carefully down the stairs the groups wonders what could have possibly happened to the quiet little inn that they came to the night before. The formerly polished golden wood floors and walls were covered in long gouges. As if a large cat was using them to sharpen its claws. The tables and chairs of the common room were broken and splintered. Everything was spattered with blood and chunks of meat. Hearing a noise coming from the kitchen the group slowly makes their way there.
OMG we are going to die (looking anxiously to the stats in the PC sheet!!!!! Panicking!!!!)
The kitchen was completely different from the rest of the inn. It was immaculately clean, with the exception of a pile of dismembered body parts on the counter. The back door opens drawing their attention. Standing in the doorway is the innkeeper Akemo. Seeing the group his face splits into a smile. As he continues to talk the illusion surrounding him starts to fade revealing the bakemono they thought they had defeated.“I’m so glad you enjoyed the dumplings. You see, the staff put a bit of themselves in making them.”
Satomi:
Player: He doesn't have time to talk that much. I attack him.
