Yeah, thanks. I was persuaded that it was a way to increase the rings stats.
Also, another question: could we play in more than one mandate at a time?

[for some reason the Quote function is not working for me, so I'll just cut-and-paste]
07JAN14 Otomo Yatsuji said: "3.) I see where you're coming from and maybe I should explain this in further detail n the Info Board. Our general game here is to have self guided adventures where you can determine a lot of the details of a lot of your own story by yourself. You are really in control of your own destiny here. If you really feel like you need a more guided adventure, feel free to request some help from the GM team and we can give you a little push on your way. Our main job as GM's though is to track glory, votes and make sure that people are engaged in the bigger story. Don't feel bad at all, please. You have wonderful patience."
No worries, Yatsuji-sama. I've posted a 'get-to-the-door' entry for your approval and will proceed from there. I'm not entirely sure how to proceed with the conflict in the Mandate, inasmuch as the two of us involved in it are both Dragons... we have protagonists but no antagonists. But we'll figure it out as we go.

Satomi: At this time, Yasuki Hachi is the Daimyo of the Yasuki family. He has sworn fealty to Hida Kuon and the Second Yasuki War has ended. Also, another question: could we play in more than one mandate at a time? That's a tricky question. In theory, yes, you could. However we want to have some form of continuity to our game. Nobody should be in more than one place at one time. You should work with your play group to decide when each mandate is happening so that you don't time travel.

Should we create a seperate thread for participating in a mandate after stating our interest in the original thread? I noticed a player roleplaying in the thread that announces/details the mandate, which feels inappropriate. I feel OOC and IC needs seperated. Nothing kills the mood like interrupting RP with unnecessary OOC.

It's true. Please make sure to start a new thread to play your mandates in. Technically speaking the Mandate threads are primarily for the listing of new Mandates

I can't see the "glory shop" yet (as I assume it's a when you are accepted dealy) but if there's a distinction not on the list can you suggest it or are we restricted to the list alone?

You may suggest distinctions. They may not go up right away, but we are always looking for ideas for more to create a more varied environment.
Also, you should be able to see the Glory Shop. Are you checking from a computer or mobile device?

With the invitations sent out for Winter Court, should players conclude any Imperial Mandates before entering into the Court thread?

Yes and no. Our timeline is pretty fluid and a little bit disconnected from real time. In an in character sense, you should most definitely finish up before heading to court. However, in real time, if you've already started a thread you should finish it up at a comfortable rate to you. We're not going to force you to hurry up your role-playing experience.

Will there be a writeup for the different potential locations within the winter court (gardens, the courtroom, side rooms for tea) or should we make them up ourselves. Being that the kyuden has been made quite quickly, it might be worth knowing it if has much of a garden.

You should generally feel free to write up locations within Kyuden Meiyo on your own while keeping in mind the newness and barely complete nature of the castle. That's a really good question.

Is having your art publically acknowledged by the Empress in open court worth glory? I know there is "Publicly acknowledged by someone of Status 7+" listed in the gaining glory in the book...but not sure if this counted.
Don't make me have to break out the hypnotoad.....

Also-can we have threads with the winds? Or with the Imperial Matchmaker?

Currently, the Empress has not acknowledged art as much as said that she knows who certain people are. Also, we are not awarding glory for that right now unless someone has commended your roleplaying in that thread.
It is possible to have threads with extremely high ranking NPC's but you should message me about having such a thread so that said NPC can be presented properly. Also, you should have a good reason for trying to meet with one of the winds or the imperial matchmaker. They are presumably busy people with many responsibilities already.
